Jockey pulleys
Jockey pulleys, also known as idler pulleys, are critical components in the power transmission systems of textile machinery. Their main function is to maintain tension in drive belts and guide belt alignment, especially in systems where belts connect motor drives to rotating parts like rollers, drums, or shafts. They are often mounted on adjustable brackets or spring-loaded arms that allow dynamic tensioning of the belt during operation.
In textile machines such as ring spinning frames, draw frames, winding machines, warping units, and sizing machines, jockey pulleys help ensure that belts do not slip or run off-track. This is essential for maintaining consistent speeds, synchronized movement, and vibration-free operation—critical factors for producing uniform, high-quality yarn and fabric.
